On Isle Goree, tucked away on a back street, it’s a quiet refuge from the barkers and tourist traps. There’s garden seating in a peaceful courtyard and a small menu of basics, including grilled chicken, fish brochettes, veggies, desserts and café moulu. The rooms have air conditioning, and the service is super friendly. Definitely recommended.

It’s a nice, quiet place with a shaded garden, and the food is good. Khadi on the staff is especially kind and professional, and breakfast is good and plentiful. The rooms are decent, but there are no mosquito nets. The two rooms furthest to the right have a slight view of the sea towards Dakar, though it’s not very interesting. At 60,000 FCFA a night including breakfast, it may be a bit expensive. Shame there’s no pool.

The garden is lovely, with a peaceful place to eat away from the island’s tourist bustle, and the owner is very sweet. We had chicken yasa, a typical Senegalese dish. The chicken was small, which is to be expected when it isn’t farm-raised, but it was very tasty and the sauce was excellent. The price was very good, around 5000 or 6000 guaraníes per dish (7 or 9 euros). Right now, the food is excellent.

The daily specials were really well prepared, and the service was very friendly. I highly recommend it. Air-conditioned rooms are available too.

We felt very comfortable here. The setting is beautiful, green and peaceful, the staff are very friendly, and the food is incredibly delicious.
