For travel around the country, this hotel referred us to Shima Travel Tours, managed by Mamadou Cisse Fall, who assigned Ousmane as our driver. At a stop, we left our luggage in the car with him. Afterward, 300 euros in cash and a power bank were missing. When we complained, the manager later returned the power bank and said we would be compensated for the money. That never happened. Communication stopped once our trip ended and we had left the country. Please be aware.

The rooftop restaurant has lovely water views, and the showers had great hot water. My room was clean and comfortable, with a good bed, window screens, and effective AC. It's centrally located and convenient, though rooms are small and dark. Depending on where you're placed, you may hear street noise, but it was mostly quiet for me. There aren't any bug nets, so you might want to bring one in the rainy season. During the dry season, I only had one or two mosquitoes in the room.

The hotel has lovely art on the walls and the staff were delightful. We stopped in for a beer on the rooftop, and the rooms look gorgeous. It’s a 10-minute walk from Soumbedioune marche. There’s also a jazz club in the basement, open every weekend from March.

The location was fine, though there aren't any tourist sights within walking distance. I had a wonderful stay and would come again. The hotel is stylish, the rooms comfortable, and the staff friendly. The pillows felt a little too high to me, but that's just personal preference.
