The welcome was friendly from the moment I got there, and the staff were lovely throughout. My room was clean and looked well cared for, which made the stay comfortable. I didn’t get to try the food, but the atmosphere and hospitality were excellent. A good pick for clean rooms and friendly service.

The restaurant and bar staff really stood out. They were hardworking and genuinely friendly, which made meals feel special. The seafood was fresh and flavorful, and the food overall was very good. There’s also a lovely pool area outside. Novotel and Ibis share the same premises and some facilities, including the gym. The Ibis finished renovations in mid 2025, so it’s worth comparing prices, especially since Novotel’s rooms feel comparatively dated. Still, the location, cuisine, and welcoming atmosphere make Novotel a practical choice in Dakar for what you pay.

We ended up booking this hotel spontaneously at the end of October when something went wrong with the residence we’d originally planned to stay at. I’m glad it worked out that way. The staff made us feel like family, and the food was unbelievably good. The service was excellent, especially by Senegalese standards, and I’d happily recommend staying here. After getting home, I quickly missed the good breakfast buffet.

We celebrated a birthday here over brunch, and the team treated us like royalty. Mariame looked after us especially well, and Momar Talla, Édouard, and everyone else were wonderful. The celebration was unforgettable. Thank you, Novotel Dakar team!

I had a terrible experience last week. I tried raising my complaints in person, but that didn’t help. I’ll give the Ibis next door a try next time and see if it’s any better.
