Pullman Dakar Teranga

Breakfast stood out, with plenty of variety and good quality, and the service was friendly, attentive, and professional. The pool area was another plus. The room was comfortable enough, though pretty ordinary, and the location isn't as good as some other parts of Dakar. Still, it was a decent stay.

The ocean view from the dining terrace was lovely, and the food was good. Staff were helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable, with robes, slippers, water, a safe, a fridge, and good internet. There are lots of places to sit in the lobby, indoors and outside, plus a bar. Upstairs there's a small infinity pool, and a bigger pool by the ocean. The airport drive took 40 minutes without traffic, but can stretch to 1 hour 25 minutes. The pier for Goree Island is a 5-minute drive or a 15-minute walk. The small fitness center has an ocean view and treadmills, a bicycle, and free weights, though equipment is limited. Lagon Un Restaurant is a safe 4-minute walk off the property, right by the ocean.

The suite upgrade was a pleasant surprise, and the view from it was stunning. Breakfast had lots of tasty choices, and I enjoyed relaxing by the pool. The hotel director was very supportive, and a staff member at the entrance, possibly named Alex, was especially friendly and provided great service. I did have trouble with the airport transfer. It appeared as included in the app reservation, but the hotel later denied that by email, which was inconvenient. Even so, we had a pleasant stay overall.

The team are friendly and professional, and the hotel's location is very good. But ten years after the renovation, the place has deteriorated a lot and no longer feels up to Pullman standards. The rooms and bathrooms are close to falling apart. There's a damp smell, the floor covering is lifting, and the TV and other things are an issue too.
