After a busy day in the Medina, the roof terrace was a relaxing place to unwind. The hotel feels like an oasis amid all the bustle, with clean rooms and helpful staff. Raphael, the in-house chef, was also very accommodating and happy to cook what you wanted. There's plenty of room for the place to grow, but for now it gives you a good night's sleep. I had a bad stay, and I'm sharing the details to help others decide. The bathroom was badly damaged, and getting to the hotel didn't feel safe. The bar was dusty and had pests. Service was rude and unhelpful, and there wasn't good Wi-Fi for working. At breakfast I found mosquitoes in the dish and even in the coffee, as shown in the picture. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. If zero stars were possible, I'd give that.

I liked being in a local part of downtown Dakar, with everything I needed nearby. The area stays lively and accessible until midnight without being noisy, and as a woman traveling solo, I felt very safe. I arrived early by ferry and they kindly let me check in early. The staff were helpful and did their jobs well. I'd give the location five stars.

The facilities were great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Water was a problem throughout my stay, though, so they had to bring it in by hand with buckets.

The rooms felt depressing, and the breakfast was swimming in oil. The staff didn't seem like they wanted to be there. Wi-Fi was just fast enough to open Google's home page. A terrible place.
