We booked a stay for earlier this week, but couldn't reach anyone by phone. We tried before booking online, again two days before, and once more while driving down on the day. We called the number on our itinerary and the one on Google Maps, with no answer. In Missirah, a few locals told us it was temporarily closed for a month or two because the operator was away and the building had problems. It looked promising, so that's why I gave it three stars, but I also wanted to let people know it's currently closed.

The salt pool was the only good part. The setting is amazing and the hotel is nicely designed, but it isn't maintained at all. The food was very bad and hygiene was nonexistent. We had no water, and there was a huge spider in the room along with several other bugs. Since you have to arrive and leave by boat, we waited over an hour to depart, which ruined the rest of the day's plans. Nothing was as expected in Senegal, and this time it was much worse, unfortunately.

The food was excellent, and the house cocktails deserve a special mention. I had a fantastic stay on this beautiful island. Between the saltwater pool, comfy places to relax, and birds singing, it's a great spot to unwind. A must-see whether you're traveling alone, as a couple, or with family.

We go every year, and Kathiror Island and Bonobo Lodge are a real gem in Senegal, a perfect spot to relax and be close to nature. Christine is welcoming and helpful, and her meals are delicious and varied. The pool is lovely, and walking around the island feels truly unique. Thank you!
