I always look forward to coming back to Douceur d’Afrique. It’s a wonderful place, and the people make it even better. Benoit is so kind, full of good humor and energy. I feel at home here every time, and I come back each year.

The setting has a lot of potential, which makes the state of the place such a shame. Everything felt filthy, the rooms were dusty, and the property was poorly maintained. I’d avoid it. The manager also seemed to have lost interest in the hotel business, perhaps because of personal problems.

At checkout, the host asked for another 10,000 for breakfast, even though the listed price included it. The room also needed cleaning, and the sheets and pillows had odd white marks on them.
