The setting is beautiful and very peaceful, with lots of birds. Food was fairly good and not too expensive, and paddles and canoes were available. But the place is run down and needs a lot of upkeep, from the pool and paintwork to the garden. The details were neglected too, with ten sunbeds but only two mattresses and hard wooden restaurant seats without cushions. Hot water wasn’t reliable. During our four-day stay, the rooms were never cleaned and the towels weren’t changed. The rooms themselves were very basic, and there were power cuts. At the restaurant toilet there was no running water or soap, despite it being COVID times, and staff serving food weren’t wearing masks. When we paid, there were two major calculation errors on the bill. It’s a beautiful location, but there are much better value places in the Sine Saloum with better management, so I won’t return.
