Le Clos Des Papillons

The food had plenty of variety, the service was excellent, and the little shop had fair prices.

The quiet setting and poolside loungers made it a lovely place to unwind. Our room next to the pool was really comfortable and had a huge bathroom. The hosts and staff were especially friendly, and dinner at the restaurant was great. The chef made a special pescetarian meal for us, and vegetarian food was possible too. For remote work, the Wi-Fi was a bit unreliable in our room, though calls worked okay. We also found a lot more mosquitoes in the room than we’d encountered elsewhere in West Africa. A check before we arrived would have helped, and the net didn’t cover the whole bed, so they could get in easily. I also couldn’t tell if the nice basket was meant to be a bin, since it had no liner.

We only stayed briefly, but really enjoyed the calm, beautiful grounds. The owners clearly pay attention to details, and the staff were great, even though our French wasn’t very good, désolé 🙂. We had dinner at the restaurant once. It was tailored for us and delicious. A couple of small things: there were quite a lot of mosquitoes in our room, more than we’d ever had in a room while travelling in West Africa, and the bed net didn’t go all the way around. The Wi-Fi in the room also wasn’t very reliable, which mattered to us as remote workers. Still, it was a very pleasant stay.

Hello Anne, It took us a while to write, though we’ve kept thinking about our stay. My husband and I found your lovely place after leaving a disappointing spot we’d booked online. We settled into the beautifully decorated suite, with its charming artwork and comfortable feel. The hostess was warm, engaging, and responsive, and the chef impressed us with both the look and taste of his dishes. We give Le Clos Des Papillons five stars and can’t wait to come back.
