Hôtel Royal Malango

There’s a pool, the food is good, and the service was good too. A great hotel option in the Fatick region.

It’s quiet here, though a bit far from town.

The setting was awful, with construction debris scattered through the garden and a beach that was mostly litter and hardly a beach at all. The pool looked like a duck pond, had no filtration or treatment, and was crawling with insect larvae. The hotel feels like it belongs to another era and is now falling apart. On top of that, teenagers partied outside the rooms until well after midnight. The service level was unacceptable for an organized tour.

Our trip was supposed to be at a different hotel, so be careful with the “or equivalent” wording. This place was full of trash, and the private beach was heartbreaking. The green pool smelled foul too, just as the person who reviewed it four weeks earlier had said. A disgrace.
