Hotel Neptune

The local food was a highlight, especially the chef’s African touch in the menu, and the restaurant offered plenty of variety. The hotel felt authentic, and the staff were very kind and enjoyed sharing their culture with guests. We loved our stay, from the excellent bed and breakfast to the wonderful location and friendly service. There’s a shop on site with African decorations where you can have clothes made. My order was ready in a day, and the service was excellent. I also booked a massage, which was very good and punctual. The pool was cleaned daily, and an African band performed every evening. We’ll be back.

The people were very friendly, and the staff at breakfast were lovely, though the breakfast itself was very ordinary. The rooms weren’t consistent: some had air conditioning in the living room and some didn’t. The pool surface was quite abrasive in a few spots.

The pool is excellent, and the nightly band at the restaurant was a nice touch. It’s a clean place in a safe neighborhood, with restaurants and shops easy to reach. The design and investment are impressive. Food was OK, but there’s no access to the beach, and the gym needs to be redone.

The gardens are full of flowers and singing birds, and the pool is large, clean, and lined with comfortable loungers. The beach is only about a three-minute walk down a path, with good loungers set aside for guests on a particularly nice stretch for the area. We had a weekend stay and really enjoyed it. Dinner was good and the service friendly; I liked having à la carte instead of a buffet. Breakfast was better than at similar places nearby. The front desk and bar staff were welcoming, and the free Wolof lessons for guests were a nice experience. You can walk to other restaurants and bars along the beach or in town.
