Hôtel Kadiandoumagne

We were staying somewhere else in Zig, but came here for dinner with my colleague and loved it. Watching the sunset over the river with fresh fish was a great experience, and both the food and the kind, efficient service were excellent. The hotel itself looks lovely too. I’d definitely come back.

The rooms felt old and clunky, and our bathroom door was broken. We were given a different room type from what we’d agreed on, then they tried to charge us extra. At €100 a night, it was nowhere near worth the price, the worst value we had on our whole trip in Senegal. Breakfast was an even bigger rip-off at €8 each for awful coffee, fake croissants, and some fruit. I asked for an omelette with vegetables and cheese, but got plain eggs and a shrug. We’d stayed in places for €50 a night that were cleaner, had better breakfasts, and had nicer staff. Don’t spend your money here. Stay next door or somewhere else.

The river views from the pool and restaurant are lovely, and the hotel itself is beautiful. I found it really comfortable, with a great shower and hot water, good AC, and working Wi-Fi. Breakfast was very nice too, with omelettes, bread, jam, cheese, coffee and tea, local juices, fruit, cakes, and pastries. A great place to relax and recharge.

I woke up with loads of mosquito bites because the netting over the bed was just decorative and didn’t work. The room itself was comfortable. The hotel sits by the river, with a pool and a restaurant right by the water. The restaurant food was excellent, though the bar service fell short.
