Delta airlines canceled and sent me here. The buffet was one of the good things, with good food quality and plenty of choice, and the customer service was good. I was worried the refrigerator wasn’t working because I had food that needed to stay cold. My sister told me they’d unplugged it to save energy. They should put a note on the fridge, and clean the dust off the balcony chair.

It’s a peaceful, neat place near town, with the beach behind it and plenty of parking. There’s a lot of history and stories here. It could suit a business trip, holiday, or a quiet break to find inspiration or inner peace. The meals are often delicious and varied. Most staff speak local languages, some speak French, and fewer speak English.

The restaurant by the water was my favorite spot, and breakfast has an amazing range of choices. It’s a grand, sprawling hotel with lots of facilities. The conference room is well equipped, though it could use better lighting. You may need extra lights when recording presenters.

The staff are helpful and friendly, and this is definitely my first choice when I visit Senegal. Amazing hotel.

We had a great time at the beach, but staff didn’t offer much guidance on places to visit, perhaps because the language barrier made communication difficult. Some staff didn’t speak English, and we also struggled to communicate, though we managed with the people who could. A translator might be helpful if you don’t speak French. The hotel was nearly empty, with occasional guests. Meals at the restaurant by the pool were okay, but breakfast was too expensive, so we usually went to Yaas for a better deal. When we left, we took the cheap yellow taxi option arranged at the hotel. In the middle of the night, that driver stopped and handed us over to someone else. We were confused and scared, not knowing what was happening, and the new driver charged us more than we’d agreed before leaving the hotel. In general it was okay, but some things weren’t well coordinated.
