The staff were warm, quick to respond, and genuinely helpful. It was a lovely way to end my Caribbean and SE America trip. If you need somewhere near Paramaribo's airport, about 60 km from the city, this is a convenient and dependable option.

Henry deserves a big thank you for taking us back to the airport at 4:00 am without a complaint, then picking us up the night before around midnight for US$10. Our flight was at least an hour late, thanks again, Suriname Air, and the next morning's early departure was rough for us too. We only stayed one night because of that flight. The guesthouse is basic, nothing fancy, though it has AC, and it's a ways out of town. At least we got some sleep. Suriname Airways has a habit of canceling or substantially changing schedules, if you're wondering how we ended up with those hours.

Sonja cooks really well, and I recommend the Java and Chinese dinner. She and Henry are lovely hosts who do their best to make you comfortable and help arrange whatever you need. I was there for a meeting and stayed at Sonja's Guesthouse for just three days, though I wish it had been longer. Good value, comfortable lodging, tasty food, and airport pickup and drop-off from wonderful hosts.
