Omali São Tomé – Principe Collection

Omali is comfortable and well kept, with a good location and a beautiful swimming pool. Breakfast is generally good too, especially when the coffee is made properly and the guacamole is fresh rather than sour. It’s also personal for me, as my father built the hotel in 1992.

The rooms could be quieter, as the air conditioning was a little noisy. Service at the restaurant was also a bit slow, though it’s a nice, neat place. The reception staff were helpful, the beds were super comfortable, and the swimming pool was nice. Breakfast was an amazing buffet.

The birthday surprises made our stay unforgettable. The team brought a gourmet chocolate mousse cake to our table while singing happy birthday to my mother, left a thoughtful gift in our room, and upgraded us. Thank you to Delfine dos Santos and Omali Lodge for this beautiful gift. We returned to São Tomé after a magical stay at Roça Sundy on Príncipe, and the Príncipe Collection welcomed us back to Omali with wonderful hospitality. The team made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, with a level of personal attention that made the journey feel worthwhile. Omali is elegant and refined, with lovely artwork, prints, photography, and thoughtful design. Our suite was spacious and incredibly comfortable. Even in the city, it feels like a calm pocket in front of the ocean. The restaurant serves traditional São Tomé flavors at a gourmet level, unlike anything else we found on the island. Breakfast was abundant, varied, and top quality. In a country where tourism infrastructure is still developing, the Príncipe Collection sets a high standard. Omali is an experience I’d recommend to anyone looking for comfort, authenticity, and luxury while discovering São Tomé.

There was plenty of variety, which was welcome when I was getting tired of grilled fish 😅. The food was amazing, especially the ceviche and the very generous, delicious chocolate mousse.
