Pestana São Tomé

I’ve never had a worse experience with restaurant and customer service. The staff were extremely unprofessional and unhelpful, and the way they treated the local population felt discriminatory. That’s completely unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

The staff were warm and helpful, especially the receptionists and manager. I also enjoyed the restaurant food and dessert. Around the hotel, there are nice spots to walk and swim, and the ocean views from the rooms and pool area are great. A couple of things could be improved: food should be covered during the day to keep flies off, and the bathtub needs a sliding door so water doesn’t splash onto the floor. It’s a very nice hotel, and I recommend staying here in Sao Tome.

The pool was a lovely, peaceful spot, and the whole property had an upscale feel with care given to comfort and appearance. I also enjoyed the evening cocktails at the bar and the range of breakfast options each morning. On my first trip to São Tomé last month, I stayed at Pestana São Tomé. Its beachfront location gave me beautiful ocean views from the balcony of my spacious suite. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were consistently polite and welcoming. I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting the island who wants a high-quality stay right by the beach.

The breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from, especially delicious fruit, and dinner was excellent too, even though it was à la carte. There was lots of seating indoors or outside by the ocean. The facilities are well kept, and the staff, including the manager, were kind and gave excellent service. The hotel is close to the airport but still very quiet, with a fantastic sea view. The two Pestanas here are well connected, so you can enjoy the best of both.
