The garden and kitchen were lovely, and Sammuel, Joana, Valentin and the other women working there were absolute gems. We especially loved the three cats, Bonbon, Suerte and Wilson. The hammocks and sofa in the shared area made it easy to relax and meet other guests. We booked three nights at La Canasta, extended twice, and even returned a week later to stay another week. Room 6 was a good value, with a very comfy bed and everything kept super clean. A mirror in the room and a few more wall hooks for clothes would have been handy, but otherwise it was so perfect. We’d happily come back. Muchas gracias.

We found the surf just a one-minute walk away, with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby too. The staff and manager were so friendly and helpful, and the place had a little-family feel. You could tell everyone enjoyed working there. It felt like a second home while we were in El Zonte. The kitchen was spacious and super clean, and our room and bathroom were clean too. Rooms have AC, and there’s an outdoor shower.

You can feel the warmth of the community here. It’s a great location, with a very short walk to the beach and to my favorite coffee shop in El Zonte, The Surf Hub. Everything was clean, and Palma and Low Tide right next door had amazing food. Great little spot!

The outdoor kitchen and lounge areas were my favorite parts of this lovely, peaceful place. My room was comfortable and clean, and the shower had strong water pressure. I would’ve stayed longer if I could. Thanks for hosting me! 🤗

We enjoyed having two very good places to eat right on the property, and the kitchen was well equipped. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the whole place was kept very clean. We stayed at La Canasta twice and couldn’t fault it. The room was comfortable and clean, with a hammock and seating outside, plus more hammocks and comfy spots in the garden. Very good value, and I’d definitely recommend it.
