Hotel Roca Sunzal

We booked through booking.com, but when we arrived, we were left out on the street. Security told us to cancel the reservation before he would give us the keys, for no clear reason, and wanted to hold our passport as a deposit to make sure we canceled. Parties nearby made the area around the hotel super loud, so we booked somewhere else late at night. Very unprofessional and disappointing.

Right across from El Tunco, with a great view of the ocean and rocks. The food was incredible and the portions generous, and drinks were 2 for 1 during happy hour.

The room smelled like sewage, though the hotel is in a nice location and otherwise felt like a three-star place. We were made to leave after checking out just one minute late. As we left, the security guard was really rude and spoiled what had been a good experience.

We had a great 2-night stay this past week. The hotel was beautiful and well maintained, and our 3 bed room was great, with a nice ocean view. We arrived early before it was ready, so they offered to keep our luggage at reception. We watched a real Madrid game at the restaurant, and just before 2pm they let us know the room was ready and had already moved our bags in. Everyone working at the restaurant was friendly, knowledgeable, and happy. We enjoyed the pool, beach, and surf city shops. Definitely coming back.
