Reef On The water

The sunsets from this hotel are to die for, and el tunco beach is only a 2 minute drive away. The location is hard to beat. Staff were outstanding from check-in to check-out, from the front desk to gate security. The place has a personal feel and a boutique vibe, with a restaurant on the premises. Everything was comfortable, and they let us check in early at no extra cost. I would’ve liked hot water and better sheets, since ours looked a bit stained from washing. The entrance could use work too. The road from the main road looks beaten up, and a low car or sedan could get damaged if you’re not careful. Even so, I’ll absolutely book again in the future.

The road in is VERY treacherous, and most Uber drivers didn’t want to drive it. Our room TV didn’t work, the WiFi was mostly down during our week there, and there was no hot water, it gets cold at night. We also had a couple of issues with staff. We ordered dinner an hour before the kitchen closed and waited a long time. One item came out about ten minutes before closing, and only then did they tell us the other item wasn’t available. We couldn’t order anything else because the kitchen was closed. Wouldn’t recommend.

The Pacific Ocean view was breathtaking, and we had a wonderful time. It was a calm, quiet, romantic getaway for us as a couple. The room was clean and well-kept, and the staff were friendly. The waitstaff worked hard to help us, though the food took a little while. We were in no rush on vacation and could relax watching waves crash on shore. The seafood pasta and meat and seafood platters were DELICIOUS. The price was very reasonable, with breakfast and free parking included. The entrance is simple and could use improvement, but once you turn the corner from the registration desk, the view makes it worthwhile. Children need supervision, since some areas may not be childproof or safe. We’d definitely return!

The pool and view were amazing, and the bathroom was nice, though our room felt a little cramped. The restaurant food was good, but our drinks and food took a while to arrive. Hanging out by the pool was nice while we waited. When my husband thought he’d lost his sandals, the staff kindly checked the cameras and helped us find them. Here are some pictures.
