The room was roomy, very clean, and had air conditioning, though the bathroom felt worn and due for a refurb. Showers had no hot water. I know that's common at some hotels around here, but others do have it, and I think Tunco Lodge should say clearly that it doesn't. We paid a premium compared with some places nearby, so we expected hot water. When we asked reception, the answer was just “no.” That was disappointing, since we were otherwise happy there. We stayed four nights and the location was perfect. Breakfast was nice, especially the pancakes, though coffee came in a plastic cup. Most staff were friendly, particularly in the restaurant, but reception wasn't especially welcoming. The pool area was nice, but every sun bed was broken and stuck flat, so you couldn't sit up. Leaves made the pool dirty easily, although staff cleaned it during the day. Food and drink prices were very reasonable. I would recommend the hotel, but it does need some improvements.

The service really stood out. Luis helped us get checked in and settled, and since my Spanish isn't great, it was a big help that his English was perfect. He also suggested things we could do. I appreciated all his help. Glad I found this place, the rooms were clean and the location was great.

For my one-night stay, this place had all the basics I needed. Breakfast was included, and there was free WiFi and parking, air conditioning in the rooms, plus two pools. It's a large complex about a five-minute walk from the beach. I'd recommend it and stay again.

I found this place on booking. com on a whim and got lucky. After a day in the sun, the updated rooms and freezing AC were just right. The staff were unbelievably kind, and it's next to all the fun activities.
