Hotel Pacific Sunrise

The beds were hard and very uncomfortable, and I had back pain throughout my stay. The hallways smelled of varnish, and the wardrobe in my room had a musty, wet-wood smell. Maybe that will go away later, but I don't know. The menu was limited and didn't look appetizing, so apart from the courtesy breakfast I didn't eat there. I was excited about staying, but this is nowhere near a 5-star hotel. I can overlook how a place looks if the staff are cordial, but the service here was rude. At check-in, the young woman didn't even look up from her phone. My reservation was for two people in one double bed, but when I asked for two of everything, they seemed insulted and insisted they provide only one towel and one courtesy water bottle. In my experience, hotels in El Salvador almost always give two adults two full bath towels and two water bottles. I was paying for the room and expected the basics. I also made a second reservation for family visiting, and when my niece checked out, the housekeeper asked, "you're not taking anything of ours, right?" That was offensive. We had paid for the booking; why would we steal anything? I would never stay here again. A hard pass.

A pleasant weekend overall, with nice rooms and okay service. I'd like more choices at the restaurant, especially for kids, and more nonalcoholic drinks.

The staff were helpful and nice, and breakfast, which came with the stay, was Salvadorian food. Still, the place felt dirty, and I was afraid to stay there. The hotel is old, the rooms haven't been upgraded, there's no elevator, the locks are broken, and the rooms don't have enough light. I only ended up there because something was happening in town, all the hotels were booked, and I had no other option. A two-bed room was $70.00.

My parents paid around 60$ a night when they visited, and that included the breakfast buffet. They had an ocean view from their room. For that price, it's a great deal, not 160$.
