Fairfield by Marriott San Salvador

Parking can be free in the La Gran Via garage across the road. Drop your bags at the hotel first, though, or you’ll have a five-minute walk from the garage elevators with your luggage. It’s manageable, and the hotel is right in La Gran Via, with shops and restaurants close by. I always enjoy staying here, especially the breakfast. It starts around 6:30 am, includes local dishes, and makes a nice change from the American-style continental breakfasts I’m used to at Marriotts in the USA. The buffet is included in the price. I do think the amenities are a little basic for what it costs. There’s no pool unless you pay extra to use the Courtyard pool across the way, and that one is pretty basic too.

The team was amazing, and I enjoyed my stay a lot. There was one small issue, but they handled it promptly and professionally. Great location too. I’d absolutely return to Fairfield by Marriot San Salvador, and I highly recommend it.

The breakfast was delicious, and the hospitality here is amazing. Everyone was smiling whenever they helped us. Thanks to the lady who cleaned my room, we saw her and she was always nice. The kitchen and front desk staff were great too. We’d forgotten a toothbrush, and they went out of their way to bring one to our room. Just amazing all around.

The location was the best thing about the place, though it felt a bit pricey, like you’re paying for the location. The room seemed old, with an attempted update, but it still had a musty smell. The bathroom looked dirty, though I assume it may have been water damage. For $150 a night, I expected more.
