Hotel Boutique San Benito - Zona Rosa

The staff were excellent, polite and friendly, and the location was great. That was the main reason we chose to stay an extra day. But we booked based on the nice online photos, and the place didn't live up to them. We arrived at midnight, so changing hotels wasn't really an option. It seemed old and not as clean as it should be. Our room hadn't been cleaned properly, and the pool wasn't well maintained either. Breakfast was included but the same every day, which got repetitive. After a day, we found a cockroach near the bed. That was unsettling. The cleanliness and upkeep need a lot of improvement.

The breakfast was tasty, though basic and pretty small. Laundry and other things felt overpriced. It's near a supermarket and a few places to eat. Could work well for a group, with a pool, barbecue, table tennis, and trampoline. Nice place, friendly staff.

It was fine, but I would've paid the extra $5-10 per night to be nearer the museum and restaurants. Those are a 10-15 minute walk away, since this place is a little outside the main area. Check-in was tricky because it was hard to find someone. There's no window in the bathroom, so the room couldn't be secured well, though security was always present and it wasn't an issue.

If you want to enjoy San Salvador even a little, don't stay here. After traveling for a few months, this has been my worst experience so far. The booking page says there's a shared kitchen, but there isn't. Staff were unpleasant and didn't help. P.S. I don't usually leave feedback, but I really needed to let people know.
