The staff at la Ruta were really friendly, and breakfast was made fresh when ordered. The location is great, with commercial areas a short taxi ride away. Luceiros was recommended for taxis, and their service was wonderful, reliable, and reasonably priced. The bedroom doors make too much noise when they close. They should consider adding a ramp for people with disabilities. Still, I enjoyed everything and hope to see the place again soon.

If you’ll be staying in a hotel or AirB&B, I’d book before leaving Belize. Most hotels close by 10pm, and they’re in a gated area.

The staff were very nice, and for a good price we got two breakfasts. The bed wasn’t great, but it was okay for two people staying one night in the city.

This place works well for a night or two, though the bathroom is very small and the TV is awkwardly placed to the right of the bed. We’d booked for two people with breakfast included, but were told it only covered one. After we complained, they agreed to provide breakfast for both of us. Getting to our room also meant carrying our luggage up stairs, since there’s no elevator.
