Hotel Mediterráneo Plaza

I highly recommend this peaceful place. The courtyard is beautiful, the service is outstanding, and the food is great. It has all the amenities you need.

The location worked well for both work and leisure, with restaurants and beer pubs nearby and the business district close by. My favorite meal was the filling, flavorful Salvadoran breakfast with plenty of protein, made beautifully each morning. The menu also offered a wide choice of traditional Salvadoran and international food. I spent 10 days at Hotel Mediterraneo in a lush, tropical setting. Staff were consistently warm and attentive, and the place felt relaxing and well run. From my Executive suite I could see the nearby volcano during the day. In the evenings I had wine on the balcony, looking at downtown's lights in the cool breeze. I'd gladly return, and give it a solid 4 stars.

I've been back many times over the past decade, and they've always treated us well. Groups are handled really well here. The place feels homey and relaxing, with a great atmosphere, and it's in a safe, quiet part of the city. Sitting outside with a cafecito and the view is lovely. The rooms are nice, with a newer AC unit, a roomy bathroom, and comfortable beds that are on the firm side, which I like.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and patient with us while we worked through the language barrier since we didn't speak English. I'd come back and most likely will on my next visit.
