Brookside Lodge B&B

I left without the hot water problem in my cabin being fixed, even though nobody seemed willing to sort it out. They keep booking the cabin despite this not being the first complaint of this kind. Almost 2 months later, I still haven't received the refund promised on departure or even a reply to my email. The customer service was awful and very rude.

The place is neat and well looked after, with a clean ablution block and hot showers at the far end. Camping costs 120 E pppn. Campers can pitch on the lodge's big grassy yard, with large trees and palms for shade. There are picnic spots with Braai drums, and firewood is provided. There's also another toilet area by the big lapa Fire place, plus sinks for dishes near the ablution block and pool. The pool, restaurant, mini golf and children's playground are there too, along with chickens, a goose and a few Emus wandering around. MTN signal was good, 3G. Wifi is free for lodge guests only. There are a few plugs around, though the lodge would prefer campers not to use electricity. The road gets noisy from daytime into the evening, but there's little traffic at night.

We booked a chalet for the family and found it very dirty and untidy. The linen and towels were dirty, and they hadn't even dusted the place to make it look ready for guests.

There was plenty to do at this lovely, attractive, clean lodge, and the swimming pool was the highlight for me. I'm definitely coming back, and would recommend it to friends and family 😱.
