The dam views make this a wonderfully quiet place to unwind. Our room had its own little stoep, and the pool also looks out over the water. Impala wander around the property, which adds a special touch. We only stayed one night, but found the staff very welcoming and the included breakfast was lovely. The restaurant is a great spot to sit and take in the view. There was a nice-looking area near the pool that seemed to have a bar, a stoep overlooking the dam, and a pizza oven, though it was closed while we were there. The room had air conditioning, and WiFi was available mainly around the restaurant. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for a peaceful overnight stop.

A pleasant stopover, with a lovely view of the dam and its wall, though I wouldn't make it a destination. The bathrooms were cleaned daily, but the pool was dirty. The campsites need some attention, the braais are broken, and the power supply was faulty.

After a bike trip through Swaziland, Maguga Lodge was a great place to rest. The staff were welcoming and the service was outstanding.

The Lowveld Bass Trail held a competition at Maguga dam, and the anglers stayed at Maguga Lodge. The setting is unbelievable and well worth seeing. The lodge is well kept, and service worked well for smaller groups. We were about 30 people, though, and the restaurant and bar were a bit short on service for us. All in all, a great experience, and I'd recommend a visit.
