Phophonyane Falls Ecolodge

The waterfall hike was unforgettable, with a magical trail and a breathtaking finish. The lodges are clean, comfortable, and welcoming, and the pool sits beautifully in the natural surroundings. This is a wonderful escape for anyone who loves nature, surrounded by lush green scenery. We ate delicious food that felt thoughtfully made. Everything is cared for and run with heart. I can see why it's featured in Lonely Planet, and it deserves the attention.

We had a clean, spacious house with comfortable beds and mosquito nets. One chilly night, the fireplace was especially nice. The staff were all very friendly, and the place is beautifully maintained. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. There are hikes nearby, two pools, and plenty of decks for enjoying the valley views.

I stayed in a very cute beehive hut and loved how peaceful the place was. Breakfast was good, with fruit and yogurt, cooked options, toast and jam, plus tea or coffee. Dinner was a letdown on the first night: the vegetable curry was tiny and didn't taste good, though the baked potato was OK. The vegetarian pizza the next evening was OK, but nothing special.

A remote spot with lovely hikes, thick forest, and lots of birds. With no TV and WiFi only in limited areas, it's a proper chance to switch off in nature. The small restaurant serves tasty, well-prepared food, though the menu and portions are limited. Fine for a short stay.
