3 bedroom Reef Residences Resort

We made a last-minute reservation and Reef had space, so we took it. For a short 5-day spring trip, it worked fine and felt like fair value. If you're after a more luxurious resort atmosphere, though, look elsewhere. Leanne and the staff were very nice. The beaches around the island were all beautiful. We explored all over, and the beach here had chairs and umbrellas. Go early if you want to make sure you get one. Somewhere was nice enough that we ate there twice, but we also went out around the island for meals. The accommodation surprised us with how roomy it was: a spacious 1 BR, 2 BA, full kitchen, living room, and a large private gated courtyard where we had coffee. The dishwasher leaked over the weekend; it took 36 hours to repair, but we didn't mind and went with island time. If you rent a car, remember they drive on the left. It was pretty easy to get used to, but could catch you by surprise.

The snorkeling was easy to get to from the beach, no need to jump off a boat. Bight Reef is to your left, so bring flippers and masks if you want to spend hours in the water with sea turtles and lots of tropical fish. The swimming beaches are just steps away, with warm water, soft white sand, and gorgeous sunsets. The rooms were clean and very roomy, with several large sliding doors opening onto a private terrace or patio. One bedroom had its own shower. I did feel there wasn't much privacy at the hotel, since people could hear conversations. Driving around was fairly easy, and renting a car is great if you like exploring. I didn't find much high-end shopping, which may be easier on the wallet. It was a great trip, and I'd go again and again.

Prince, our concierge, stayed on top of everything. We had a wonderful, quiet, relaxing time with another couple. We barely saw anyone else, apart from the regulars hanging out by the pool. And Grace Bay is breathtaking. We'd happily return again and again.

The place was fully booked, yet you could hardly tell anyone else was around. We also had an on-site spa, and our stay came with a half-hour massage. The concierges were all courteous and knew their stuff. For the value, it would be hard to ask for much more.
