Kokomo Botanical Resort

Kokomo was lovely, quiet, and intimate, with clean grounds and beautifully maintained gardens. The separate cottages felt private and were a nice setup. The staff were fabulous. Wenie helped us before we arrived with recommendations and excursion arrangements. Jeffrey, the beach shuttle driver, was friendly, on time, and responsive. Mufasa at the evening bar made terrific drinks. The resort isn’t right on the beach, but the shuttle is convenient. Highly recommend.

We stayed four nights with our two kids and really appreciated having separate bedrooms and a kitchen. Wenie and the team were wonderful before and after our visit, arranging tours and a rental car. After checkout, Wenie even went out of her way to help us recover a lost item. The grounds and pool are relaxing and lovely. You’ll need a rental car, but the location is great for exploring different beaches and restaurants.

The service here was spectacular, with friendly, attentive employees who kept us informed. We stayed four nights in our own cottage, which had a kitchen, plates, and utensils, plus a cooler we took to the beach. There’s a fresh water pool, a relaxing hot tub, and a spa. This is one of the nicest resorts I’ve stayed at. I’d recommend it to families, couples, or groups of friends.

The concierge was really nice, and the hotel staff were welcoming, but the location didn’t work for me. It’s far from the beach, groceries, activities, and shopping. Beach access means taking a shuttle down the street. It doesn’t run often, just a few times a day, and taxi drivers were unreliable. Service at the restaurant was slow, and I felt like I was bothering them. The food was average, mosquitoes feasted on me, and the indoor dining area was hot and smelled gassy, maybe because they were trying to keep flies away. A nearby club or venue played music until 3 AM and kept me awake several nights. Save yourself the hassle and spend extra to stay on Grace Bay Beach.
