Le Vele Resort

We were sorry to leave and already feel like coming back next year. Everyone made us feel at home. Joshua had our beach chairs ready first thing each day and cold water waiting when we got there. He was so sweet. Clayton was just as thoughtful: when our daughter badly broke a toenail, he went out to buy medical supplies for it. Our three-bedroom condo was spotless and beautiful, with amazing views. Le Vella was just right for our vacation.

Being able to step from the room onto the beach in under a minute was a big part of what made this place special. No long walk or trolley. The beach was clean, with miles of white sand and water without rocks or seaweed. Most days it was nearly empty, and the pool area was quiet too. The beach and water were the best we’ve experienced in the Caribbean or anywhere else so far. The pool is great, with lots of places to sit and two big covered lounge areas. It’s only five feet deep, so no diving. Towels are kept replenished around the clock. The property is spotless and neatly kept, with elevators to each floor and three ocean-view rooms per floor. There’s a separate main lobby, plus gated parking on both sides with covered spaces, a real help in the heat. Our room felt modern and spacious, with a full kitchen, a large, bright bathroom, a king bed and TV. The living area has a big TV with North American and South American channels. Sliding glass doors in both the bedroom and common area make the place feel even bigger, and the balcony has a dining table with room for six or more. Waking up to those views was worth the price. Cribs are available, and there’s babysitting with advance notice. The location at the tip of Grace Bay and Bight Bay is handy for getting around the island. Restaurants, grocery stores and souvenir shops are walkable. Bikes, pool floats and a beach kayak are available for guests. Staff were lovely throughout. It’s private and costs extra, but we’d come back.

It’s right on the beach, and the huge balconies, spacious kitchens and beautiful apartments make this feel like a great place for families. The view is to die for. Just keep in mind it’s really a condo, not much of a resort, since there aren’t restaurants or bars on site. Heaven.

Great location and a special place, with attentive, helpful staff. I’d have given it five stars, except the beach chairs were awful and there’s no food available on site.
