Baan Ing Daan Hotel

For a one-night stop, the room had what I needed, though the whole place felt dated and purely functional. The hotel sits outside town, so having your own transport matters. Rooms are average-sized in a two-storey block with no elevator. The double bed was on the small side and the mattress was hard, as is common in Thailand. Wi-Fi worked well even in the corner rooms, and the air conditioning got properly cool. There's a little table for eating food you bring back, plus an outdoor sitting spot where they offer free coffee and toast in the morning. It cost 500B a night, possibly a little less online. Nothing especially good or bad, just an average stay.

I found plenty of little restaurants within 200 meters, and the hotel itself was very quiet while I was there. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the porch was nice. There was free coffee and the air conditioning kept things cold. A lovely little place if you're passing through Amnat Charoen between Ubon and Mukdahan.

A chicken farm about 20 meters from the room meant the rooster woke me early. There was also a bird nest at the window, so I stuffed a towel there to keep them from coming into the room. The dogs around the hotel barked terribly all night, like they were competing to see who could bark loudest.

The location was very quiet, and Big C and the rest of town weren't too far away. My room was clean and comfortable, with good air conditioning and decent water pressure in the shower.
