Ao Nang Pool Resort Bamboo

There was no water when I arrived, and it took several hours to get it fixed, so I couldn’t even shower. The staff seemed unprofessional and spoke very little English. Hygiene didn’t seem like a priority either. The accommodation was in terrible shape. Everything creaked, the walls were so thin I could hear outside noise, and there was no peace or quiet. The bed was so hard that the springs left bruises on my back. The photos must be at least ten years old, because the place looked nothing like them. Worst hotel experience I’ve had.

The bamboo rooms were wonderful, and the bathroom was clean and well looked after. Spending the night here was a great experience. There’s a swimming pool with a lovely view of the bamboo rooms. I think it’s around 1.30m deep, since my wife, who is 1.55m tall, enjoyed swimming in it. There’s also a restaurant and a muay thai training ground next to the resort. We did find two cockroaches, but they got out easily. I suppose that can happen in a bamboo room. The Wi-Fi didn’t really reach the rooms farther from the main router, and I don’t think they’ve set up any extra hotspots. We booked in April for $19.

The first impression of the rooms was good, but the air conditioner wasn’t working properly. We told them, and they did nothing about it. The beach is quite far away.

The staff were polite, but the accommodation was in awful condition. We stayed three days, and the only other things in its favor were that Ao Nang Night Street is an eight-minute drive away and there are laundry services nearby. The huts are very basic and badly maintained. The sheets and towels were ragged, and the pillowcases didn’t match the sheets. I couldn’t tell if they’d been properly washed. Our bed had two mattresses stacked up: springs poked through the bottom one, and the top one slid around even with a little movement. I kept getting hurt by the exposed springs, and the bed frame was broken too. In another room, my friend was injured by nails sticking out of the wall. The only toiletries were two tiny plastic shampoo bottles, barely 20mL each. That was it. For the same price, you can find a much better hotel nearby. This place is uncomfortable, neglected, and not worth the money. I don’t recommend it.
