The room smelled like sewage so badly that even showering was unpleasant, and there were gray humidity spots on the ceiling. It all felt broken, including the curtain separating the bathroom from the bed area. Even things shown in the website photos were missing, like bedside tables. Cleanliness didn’t seem to matter here. There wasn’t even soap for washing your hands after using the toilet. We asked, and staff twice told us they don’t provide soap. A nearby bar played music outside as loudly as possible until 3 AM, so good luck sleeping. There was construction too, with cars carrying doors and windows blocking the way in and out when we opened our room door. The only reason we didn’t book somewhere else when we arrived was that we spent the whole day out and only came back to sleep. I still feel like 🤮 thinking about the place.

For a budget stay where you can sleep well, this is hard to beat if you’re not after a party hostel. The free breakfast has lots of options, the shared areas and toilets are clean, and the air conditioning is amazing. Most people staying here aren’t party seekers, and they’re quiet, respectful, and mindful of others. I’d come back.

The beach is directly across from the hotel, so the location itself is good. But the construction and nightclub made the stay awful, and we wouldn’t return. Work was going on all day, extremely loudly, and when we arrived the hotel looked like a building site, nothing like the photos online. I only noticed a small check-in sign on our second day saying they’d refund you if you chose not to check in because of the work. They should have told us about that. The room door was very hard to unlock, and a big gap along the patio door let mosquitoes in. A techno club directly opposite blasted music until 2 AM, which made it really hard to sleep.

The workers were very friendly, but the room didn’t feel safe. One of the door locks was broken and there was no safe. It’s right by Aonang’s main strip, so loud, drunk tourists were passing by throughout the night.
