Aonang Dahla Bungalow

The location and the view are lovely. The rooms were clean and the staff very nice and helpful. The woman at reception was especially kind. She was always smiling, helped me find a hospital, and brought me food when I was sick.

The road nearby makes it a little noisy. The extra charges also add up: electricity is 20 thb/kwh, while other bungalows charge 7 thb/kwh, and water is expensive too. There’s another 100 thb charge for trash, plus a required 500 thb cleaning fee at checkout that you aren’t told about when checking in. Cleaning the room during your stay costs 300 thb, which is too much, though thankfully it isn’t required.

It’s fairly quiet, and there’s a garden where you might spot a big lizard. The TV is the usual old small type, with Thai channels and ads but no international channels, news, or movies. At 1000 bath, it could seem expensive or cheap, depending how you look at it. You can sleep there.

The air conditioning wasn’t cool, so we had to rely on the fan. Wi-Fi was VERY SLOW. We asked about getting a better connection and just got an “okay” in reply. Lots of geckos were outside the door and came into the room when the lights were off. I was horrified and couldn’t sleep, so I had to leave the light on all night. The service was bad.
