Aonang Goodwill Hotel

A short walk gets you to Ao Nang Beach, and there are plenty of halal food options downstairs. The hotel is also very close to the mosque, which is super convenient for Muslim travelers. My room was big, clean, and comfortable, and the price was great for what you get. The staff at Aonang Goodwill Hotel were super friendly and always ready to help. I really enjoyed staying here and would definitely come back.

For a week’s stay, this hostel was a decent budget choice at a fair price. Our twin room was spacious, with a small balcony, fridge, electric kettle, instant coffee, bottled water, and towels. Those little things made it convenient. The front desk staff didn’t seem particularly friendly or helpful, which affected our impression. The entrance often smelled strongly of durian, which some people may find off-putting, and on a couple of occasions we saw ants on the wall near one of the beds. The room amenities were good, but cleanliness and customer service could be better.

I spent nine peaceful, pleasant days here while working in Au Nang, and that went well. The room felt secure, with 24-hour hotel security. Customer service was very good, and shops and restaurants nearby made it easy to find most things I needed. Airport transfers are available at a very affordable price if you’re happy to share a van. You can also book a private taxi or use e-hailing.

I paid for a room with two beds, but when my male friend and I arrived, there was only one. They wouldn’t move us, so my friend ended up sleeping on the floor. There’s no breakfast, and the hotel is hugely overpriced for what it is. The shower had only cold water, though I swear you won’t be sweating afterward. Just pay more for somewhere else in Ao Nang and don’t ruin your holiday in this rat hole.
