Aonang Lake Side Bungalow

If you’re after peace and quiet, this is a good place to come. The staff are lovely, and I actually like the location. It’s a little out in the country, but just up the road there are lots of authentic Thai road stalls and cafes, and the boxing stadium is right next door. I wanted to leave a more up to date review. The old bad reviews are from before it was updated into a solid building. Rooms are still basic, but they have AC, hot-ish water, and a telly. Mine was clean, the sheets were fresh, and for the price it’s an OK deal. I’ve stayed in much worse places for about the same money. The old bungalows are still there, but I don’t think they use them now.

We really loved staying here. The staff were super helpful and friendly, and the rooms were great. The pool was clean and refreshing after walking in the sun all day. It’s a 12 min walk to the beach, 10 min to the night market, and 5 min to a corner store and food options. I highly recommend looms wich restaurant! The food is amazing!

The room was easily the worst I’ve had after two months traveling in Thailand. There was mold all over the bathroom, the furniture was old and falling apart, the whole room smelled awful, and the air conditioning was filthy, clearly never cleaned. Cracks in the doors let cockroaches in. We had to kill seven one night, and the next night I woke up in a panic with one crawling on my face. Absolutely disgusting. Even check-in was painful. The staff didn’t speak any English, fumbled around with our phone as if they’d never seen a reservation, and made the whole thing frustrating. The place is falling apart and the owners clearly don’t care or do anything about it. On top of that, it isn’t even cheap. Do yourself a favor and stay far away. 🤯😳🪳🫠

We stayed in a bungalow. The owners were really, really nice and helpful, and even gave us orange juice when we arrived. The pool was nice, the nature around it beautiful, and they clearly take care of the garden. The bathroom needs renovating. The toilet blocked soon after we arrived and had to be fixed. There was no tube under the sink, so water from both the shower and sink splashed onto the floor and back onto your feet. The beach was nice, and lovely for walking to some small islands, but in the afternoon the tide was too low to swim. It’s 1,1 km from the hotel, quite a walk, and the nearest supermarket is also 15 mins away.
