Rest at Ekkamai

I come to Thailand every year and stay at this hotel. Big C Mart and Starbucks are only about a 10-second walk away, with restaurants and bars nearby too. It’s also handy for heading out toward the outskirts when I go golfing. The friendly staff make each visit a pleasant one. This time, Benya was especially attentive to my requests and helped with everything. I told her I’d misplaced something, and she kept looking into it for me. I first stayed here in 2022, then came back in early 2026. It’s nice to see the hotel has only improved since then. I’m happy with everything, 10/10. The complimentary coffee, tea, and alcoholic cocktails are a great touch, and I really appreciate how loyal they are to their guests. This is my favorite area in Bangkok, with everything I need nearby. I’ll recommend the hotel to my friends.

I’m not sure why the ratings are so low. There’s room for improvement with the amenities and breakfast, but I didn’t find it that bad. The location helps a lot: Big C is right next door, there’s a Starbucks nearby, and the BTS station, Here Hai, and Wattana Panich are all close. The hotel gives out free coffee each day and a grab-and-go breakfast, which was a tuna sandwich and plain bread with jam. My room was fine and had a safe, fridge, TV, WiFi, soap, shampoo, and a hair dryer, though there was no toothbrush. The dryer was worn but still worked, and I liked having lots of power sockets for my gadgets. The soap smelled amazing. It’s a small hotel with five floors. There may be noise from a bar next door on weekend nights, and the main road brings some traffic sounds, so it may not suit light sleepers.

I’ve stayed here around six times over roughly ten years, and I still love it. Ekkamai / Thong lo is a great area for upscale activities and food. The place is clean, service is good, and check-in is quick and easy. They offer complimentary fresh drinks and coffee, and the staff are always there to help with a smile. Bom, Benya, and the rest of the team have been providing great service for years.
