Aonang Sunset Hotel

For a short stay, it was fine, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is the best part, with everything you need in Ao Nang close by. I wouldn't pay extra for breakfast, though. There was barely anything to eat, and it really wasn't worth it.

We were in Krabi for our last stop and wanted somewhere near the beach to relax and enjoy the food. This place suited that plan, with food joints close by, though the main sightseeing spots are far away. The view of the sunset from the room is exactly what the hotel's name suggests. The rooms were tidy and clean, the staff were excellent, and there's a nice little pool with a shower. I'd definitely recommend it.

The location is good, but I left very disappointed. The price doesn't match the hotel's standard, and the reception staff came across as unfriendly, unwelcoming, and dishonest. I paid a room deposit at check-in and another deposit for a scooter rented through the hotel. When I returned the scooter, the man tried to leave without giving back my 100 euros. I had to ask for it. He first acted as though he didn't understand, then returned the 100-euro deposit only after I insisted. At first I thought, okay, never mind. At checkout I asked for the room deposit. The staff member said there had never been one. I explained that I'd paid it to the receptionist when I checked in. She called the staff who had been on reception that day, but they all denied taking a deposit and said the hotel doesn't ask for them. Even after several minutes of discussion, I got nothing back. I don't consider this hotel trustworthy. I'm very disappointed with what happened. Thankfully, plenty of other hotels in Thailand have good values and principles, but this one didn't.

Housekeeping was perfect every day, and the staff gave us outstanding service throughout our pleasant stay. When the safe had a problem, they replaced it within five minutes. The location is excellent too. Highly recommended. //Tofft
