Baannai Lakeview Resort

We saw loads of wildlife from our room and around the site, including a hornbill, monkeys, monitor lizards, and huge fish in the lake. A fun bonus! We stayed in a block opposite reception for four nights and loved it. The rooms had plenty of space, comfortable beds, effective air conditioning, and water replenished every day. The bathroom was great too, with good water pressure and amenities. There wasn’t much storage, but that wasn’t a problem for a few days. Baannai Lake View is in a gorgeous, secluded tropical spot a little away from town, and has a free tuk-tuk shuttle to Ao Nang whenever you need it. You do have to make your own way back. The staff were so lovely, kind, helpful, and ready to go out of their way. We got laundry done and booked onward transfers. We also had breakfast and dinner at the on-site restaurant a few times, and it was fantastic every time. The pool was glorious after a busy day of touring. A truly wonderful quieter tropical resort, just a short distance from Ao Nang. I’d recommend staying here.

The mountain-view rooms are really spacious, with a large, very comfortable bed. You can have the room cleaned daily, but if you skip cleaning, they still bring fresh water, towels, and toilet roll. There are plenty of choices for breakfast and dinner. The scenery is incredible and the setting is so quiet. It’s only a ten-minute ride into town; you can take the resort’s free shuttle there and get a Grab or tuk-tuk back. The staff are kind and helpful too. They booked a transfer for us and helped with our laundry.

This was our favourite stay in Thailand so far. The little hotel is brilliant and peaceful, a welcome rest after walking around Ao Nang. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the free ride to the beach and night market was a big help. WiFi was good; the rooms are small but sufficient and very clean. We used the laundry service too. It was reasonably priced, and our clothes came back smelling nice. Definitely recommend it if you’re after a quiet place away from Ao Nang’s hustle and bustle.

During our two months in Thailand and Vietnam, this was one of our top three stays. It’s a bit away from busy Ao Nang, which suited us just fine, and there’s a free tuk-tuk into town. The staff were fantastic, very helpful with booking tours and advising us on the best ways to do things. The beach down by the harbour was great. The food was excellent with a good menu, and the pool and rooms were great too. An incredible hidden gem.
