Moon Budget Hotel

The rooms are roomy and mostly comfortable, with clean, modern facilities. But there’s a lot of noise. The AC units are extremely loud, even the ones in neighboring rooms, and street noise adds to it. I found it hard to sleep without earplugs.

If you’re hoping to sleep past 6am, I’d pick somewhere else, especially if you’re assigned room no. 201. It seems to be beside a kitchen, where they start banging and chopping at 6 am. I sent staff a video on WhatsApp and asked to move, but nobody replied. Each morning I was woken at 6:05, 6:18 and so on. The noise eased around 7:30, then started again around lunch and in the evening. The hotel itself may be okay, but sleep was impossible for me.

It was quiet, which we really appreciated 🤗 The bed was comfortable, the AC kept the room cool and the shower had good pressure. Filtered water and coffee were there for us, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We could walk to different markets, take a boat to the islands, or get a Bolt to Tiger Cave Temple and other interesting spots. It was just what we wanted.

The location wasn’t that great, and there’s no breakfast included. Checkout is at 12PM, and they charged me 100 bhat for a one-hour late checkout. My room was extremely small, though it did have a nice balcony. At night it was loud, with people laughing and talking in the lobby. I think it was staff, and it didn’t feel respectful to guests. The sheets were dirty, and the toilet was tiny. Showering got it all wet. The AC worked well, but there was no hot water. Someone came to fix it, but after he left, the water was awful. While waiting for a taxi, I tried the public restroom at the hotel. It wasn’t working properly and the sink didn’t work at all, so I had to buy something at a nearby restaurant just to use the bathroom and wash my hands properly. Thanks, I won’t come back.
