Phupha Aonang Resort and Spa

The staff were so kind and ready to help, and the shuttle to the beach was a real convenience. It ran several times a day with return trips, which mattered because Grab can be hard to find around there. Reception could sometimes be difficult to communicate with because of the language barrier, though that’s just a suggestion for improvement, not a criticism. We spent three nights at Phu Pha Spa & Resort. The setting is lovely, with rooms tucked among lush plants like a little forest and a pool in the middle. Our room and shower area were both spacious. The rooms were humid, and it would be helpful to have a solution, perhaps air fresheners and mosquito nets so windows could stay open. The bathrooms could use some renovation too. Laundry was excellent and reasonably priced. There were options for machine or natural drying, ironing, and express service. We tried ironing and express, and both were great. Breakfast is available, though we didn’t try it, and the restaurant stays open until 9 p.m. One afternoon we ordered food to the room; it came in neatly arranged containers. There’s also a small sauna and gym. We had a positive visit and would recommend the resort for a relaxing Ao Nang stay.

The garden has a proper jungle feel, and the cosy lights and smart TV were nice touches. The bed was really comfortable, and I got woken by the staff for checkout. The shower had shampoo and good conditioner.

The villa was comfortable, and the hotel sits in a quiet area away from the main road. Parking is right in front, and we left our car there while spending the night at Railay beach. We were close to the pool, though, and could hear other guests being loud from inside our room. They kept it up until midnight.

The pool is unforgettable, it feels like swimming in the jungle with the cliffs in view. The setting is stunning, and the hotel is exceptionally beautiful, almost like having your own private jungle. A small renovation would help freshen the property up.
