The host was really warm, and the bedroom had good furnishings, including a fridge, safe and AC. Popeye Guesthouse is a lovely spot for a longer stay in Ao Nang, only a 5-minute walk from Ao Nang beach. It's next to Dream Bar, my favorite bar ever, run by a lovely owner, and there is a fast, efficient laundry service right nearby.

The rooms are so tiny there's barely room for luggage. The owner was very rude, though his wife was really kind. Worst stay ever, definitely wouldn't recommend it.

It's barely habitable. If it's high season and other places are expensive, a hostel might be worth considering. I avoided hostels because I thought they'd be noisy, but this place was just as bad. Even earplugs didn't help much.

I paid under 1000thb for this hotel last week, while every other hotel was over 4000thb, and tbf it was worth the money. The shower pressure and steady temperature were better than in 5* hotels, the staff were lovely, and the location is great. It's a very basic and slightly noisy hotel, but good value overall :)

We got the first room and it was better than expected. It looked quite nice, as did the bathroom, even though we'd chosen a fan instead of AC. The shower and toilet share the bathroom, which is what you mostly see in SE Asia. The location is great, and the WiFi worked perfectly well.
