Railay Garden View Resort

Breakfast was nice, with fruit, tea, coffee and juice, plus freshly made omelettes, pancakes and similar options. The villa had a brilliant balcony overlooking the garden and sea. There’s a fan and a mosquito net around the bed. The shower only ran lukewarm, and there’s no air-conditioning or fridge, but that’s part of the experience here. Long-tail boats run through much of the night, but I tuned them out. We loved staying here. Definitely recommend it.

The views of the ocean from the huts and breakfast bar are fabulous, and the tasty breakfast is unlimited. It’s peaceful, though you can hear some boat traffic, and there’s no pub or bar noise. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the place is very good value. They even have a luggage lift, so you don’t have to haul bags up the hill.

We were in room 210, which I think is the best one there: front row, gorgeous bay view, hammock, and a large deck. The rooms feel like tree houses, and I honestly can’t recommend this place enough. There are stairs, but fewer than at other beachfront stays we’ve had in Thailand. The boats are annoying, but Railay is only reachable by boat, so it comes with the place. The hotel doesn’t serve alcohol. There’s a mart down the steps and about 200 meters along, and the hotel has a public fridge where you can chill your own drinks. Book here, you won’t regret it!

We loved relaxing on the porch, with a bit of privacy and almost the feeling of having our own resort. It’s peaceful, other than the long-tail boat noise you hear throughout the area. The beach is about a 20-minute walk away, so it’s a little farther out. No air-conditioning and the water isn’t heated, but neither was a big deal for us. The views are gorgeous and the free breakfast was amazing. Very nice place, we’ll definitely be back. Thanks, Railay Garden! Thank you so much, we’ll come back again!
