Sea Star House

The room was okay, and so were the staff, but the club noise was unbearable. It felt like the club was inside the room, and it went on until 3 am. This was the worst experience ever. Run away!

We’d spent our first 1.5 weeks in northern Thailand and bangkok, and this was our first stay in the south. We weren’t impressed. The room had no windows and smelled very musty, damp, and mouldy. I questioned the cleanliness, the water smelled quite bad, and the sink leaked. The street was noisy and busy. The one perk was the firm mattress, which I like, and the beach is right across the street. I don’t recommend spending $180 CDN a night here. Stay elsewhere or splurge on a better hotel.

The staff came across as quite stuck-up. It was raining heavily and we were outside, so we went in to get two beach towels to dry ourselves off without making the floor dirty. A staff member was annoyed and said we couldn’t take too many towels. She said it was okay to dirty the floor, but not to take beach towels.

We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights, and it was really comfortable. The woman at the counter was so nice. It’s easy to get to the beach, and you can also take a tuk-tuk to the night market at night. Just don’t leave food in the room, because lots of little ants will come and eat it.
