Sunrise Tropical Resort

The area is peaceful and calm, and the bungalows are lovely with really comfortable beds. We had some issues with the shower and a few other things, but the staff sorted everything out quickly and efficiently. Everyone was kind and helpful. Breakfast was fine, though it could use more variety.

This was years ago, but we’d been having a nice stay until the day before we left, when we believe the cleaning staff took all the cash we had with us. We reported it to management, but they talked us out of taking any action, saying it would mean reporting it to the police. I wouldn’t have had a problem doing that, though apparently it would have caused them an issue. They didn’t want anything done, which made me wonder whether they were involved. The only compensation they offered in the end was a boat ride out of there. It was a hassle and completely spoiled our time.

The room was really cute, and it’s only a short walk to a lovely beach. The views are just unbelievable. Service staff were polite, though the restaurant food wasn’t as good as at the other Thai restaurants we tried. There are plenty of other places to eat within walking distance, too. It was a great experience overall.

We saw monkeys and lizards living freely around the hotel, which made the tropical villas feel especially beautiful. Our room was clean and good, and the breakfast buffet was simple but decent. The breakfast area has a lovely sea view. It was a good experience, and I’ll definitely visit again.
