Ayothaya Riverside Hotel Ayutthaya

Our room, 709, was tidy and very clean, with fresh linen, a bed that wasn't too hard, and a pleasant view over the river and bridge. The air conditioning worked well. The bath let the room down: it had been painted and the shower ran from the bath taps. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay. The staff gave us a warm welcome, were polite, and couldn't do enough for us. It's five minutes from the railway station and the boat pier opposite it.

The Wi-Fi was poor, and the rooms look as if they haven't been updated in 25 years. This place needs major renovation and investment. It never felt like a 3 star hotel, more like a 2 star, and at most somewhere to stay one night in a pinch. You can find better for the price.

We were grateful to be allowed to check in early, and the staff were lovely and very accommodating. We also left our bags here before taking the train to Chang Mia. The hotel is almost opposite the station, with good restaurants nearby, so it worked perfectly as a base for seeing the area and temples before catching the train. Thanks for a great stop!

This place was very old and run-down. Our rooms had a hole in the wooden wall, a poor view, and a bed that was awkwardly rolled. It has potential if they renovate, but without that I do NOT recommend staying here.
