Baan Pomphet

My friend and I stopped by for a quick afternoon drink and some downtime, and had a really enjoyable visit. The service was amazing too. It was pretty hot that afternoon, though on a cloudy day the riverside setting would be perfect. The atmosphere next to the river is the best. I'd recommend checking this place out.

This is a restaurant review only, and the meal was memorable. I sat on the downstairs deck with an amazing view. The staff were just as great, setting up two fans for me without me even asking. The service felt luxurious. The deep fried catfish was cooked perfectly, crisp outside and buttery, moist, and delicious inside. It came with a saucy green papaya salad for dipping, and the two together were absolutely heavenly. I also ordered the squid and shrimp with minced pork and banana flower salad. Delicious. I think the secret is super fresh fiish and seafood cooked expertly. Sorry about the photo, I dug in before I realized I'd ruined the shot, then tried to cover my transgressions with a papaya salad. Professional staff, a great atmosphere, and dishes cooked fresh and delicious. I highly recommend it and will definitely visit again when I go to Ayutthaya.

We loved being by Pomphet Fort during Loy Krathong. It was the perfect spot to set off our krathongs, saying goodbye to negative energies and welcoming positive ones into our lives. We spent three nights here, and Ann and the lovely team made the stay. My son had the best time with P Back, joking around and playing with the Minecraft toys he got at the market despite the language barrier. He even insisted we bring P Back with us to Hua Hin! We're already planning another stay at Baan Pomphet and will happily find a reason to visit Ayutthaya next year. This gorgeous little boutique hotel is right by the river, with an amazing restaurant too. It has a Michelin rated restaurant, but the food costs not much more than at any seafood spot in town. You get unbeatable river views, accommodating service, and top notch ingredients. Even after exploring temples and food markets each night, we came back for more food at the hotel.
