Sleepaholic Hostel

There are lots of people to meet at the neighboring hostel and bar, which has live music every night. I couldn’t hear it much inside the dorm, so sleeping wasn’t a problem. The hostel itself is clean and well located, though I didn’t find much of a social vibe inside. Maybe it was just the timing of my stay.

The beds are incredibly comfortable, the best I’ve slept in so far on my Thailand trip, and the central location puts street food, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and banks close by. The owner at reception was a good guy, and his girlfriend spoke fluent English. Toilets were clean and the dorms got cleaned daily. It worked well for a short stop in Ayutthaya. One odd thing: a towel costs 40 BHT. I haven’t seen that before, or at least not at that price. I’ve seen 10 baht.

The other guests were mostly very young, so it was easy to meet people. This small hostel is brand new and really clean, with friendly young staff. Wat Mahatat and other attractions are only minutes away, and minibuses stop on the same street. The common room has a fridge, microwave, and TV for when you’re tired.

A clean little hostel with lockers in the rooms, run by friendly people who speak good English. It’s within walking distance of the historic park, and you can rent a bicycle for 50 baht a day.
