I Tara Resort & Spa Cha Am

From our third-floor room in the middle of the building, we could see both the garden and the sea. There’s no elevator, since the building only has three floors. The garden itself is beautiful, and the room was a good size, neither cramped nor oversized. The decor was fine, and room service and housekeeping were efficient. The simple menu and breakfast buffet were okay, though the food could cost less. I also wish the bed were softer and that the toilet didn’t smell bad.

I was greeted by really friendly staff, and check-in was quick and easy. The grounds are beautifully kept, the room is roomy and comfortable, and the pool looks great. I could walk along the beach, too. There’s a convenience store and coffee shop across the road, but you’ll need transport to get to other places. Highly recommend! #travelthailand

The pool looked especially inviting, and the garden setting overlooking the Gulf of Thailand is lovely. Just be aware there’s no beach at high tide. The rooms feel dated and weren’t very clean, with lots and lots of ants in the bathroom. Both dinner and breakfast were mediocre. The oddest thing was the key card rule: reception gives you only one, no matter how many guests are staying. A second card requires a 300 baht deposit.

Waking up to the sunrise made the unpleasant parts of the stay easier to forgive. The beachfront setting is worth it, and both sunrise and sunset were unbelievable. I loved the bath and rain shower, too. The AC was loud at night and wouldn’t cool the room enough, so I didn’t sleep that well. The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful, though they couldn’t suggest good nearby places to visit, so you’ll have to look those up yourself, haha. I booked through a third-party app and got a 42% discount. Would I come back? It depends on the price and the time of year, but the stay felt worth every baht I spent :))
